Perfect make-up removal

Facial make-up removal is a procedure that we cannot under any circumstances forget about. It allows us not only to remove applied cosmetics from our skin, but also sebum and airborne impurities. It nourishes the skin, moisturizes, regenerates and prepares it for the application of care creams or balms.

First of all – a well-chosen cosmetic

There are many different make-up removal products on the shelves of drugstores and pharmacies. Which cosmetic will be the best depends on two basic factors: skin type and makeup intensity.

The most frequently chosen make-up removal cosmetics are:

  • milks - they work very well for dry and sensitive skin, they can remove even the most "resistant" cosmetics,
  • make-up removal gel – good for dry and sensitive skin
  • make-up removal oils and creams - also dedicated to dry and sensitive skin, usually contain many nourishing substances, but may leave an unpleasant greasy layer on the skin (therefore it is worth additionally using a tonic or micellar fluid),
  • tonic – works well in the case of oily skin, it can cope with impurities, dust, as well as with not too intense daily make-up,
  • two-phase liquid - due to its oily consistency, it is recommended for cleansing the delicate skin around the eyes and lips, it is also perfect for waterproof cosmetics,
  • micellar fluid - a universal cosmetic, recommended for oily, sensitive and dry skin,
  • wet wipes and pads – convenient to use, perfect for beauticians when you are away from home.

Secondly – proper technique

Once we have selected the perfect makeup remover, we soak a cotton pad with it and gently remove the makeup with circular movements. To make this task easier, it is best to divide the face into zones (forehead, eyes, nose, cheeks, chin, neck). We remove the makeup until the cotton pad remains perfectly clean. Once again, it should be emphasized that we remove make-up very gently, we do not pull or rub the face intensively. The skin around the eyes should be treated with particular care to avoid micro-injuries, irritations and premature wrinkles.

When we cleanse our face with gentle, circular movements and gently massage it, we perform two positive actions. First, we remove all dirt and fragments of dead skin from our skin. Secondly, thanks to such a successive massage, our facial muscles become more relaxed and the lymph is stimulated to work. As a result, cells regenerate faster.

Thirdly – the right connections

Usually, the first cosmetic we reach for to wash our face is a make-up remover. In fact, it is a recommended product. However, it should be remembered that the milk alone is not enough. What is more, together with the remains of cosmetics, it creates a rather thick, tight shell on the face. For this reason, the next step should be to wash the complexion with a toner or at least a face gel. It is worth leaning towards a toner or micellar fluid. Why?

These cosmetics are perfect for getting rid of impurities remaining on our skin, but also excess milk or cream, which could impede the skin's breathing, clog pores, favor the growth of bacteria, and as a result, the make-up removal effect would be opposite to the intended one. In addition, many facial toners and lotions also contain soothing and antibacterial substances. So we can be sure that our skin has not only been well cleansed, but also properly cared for and protected.

Even when we are very tired, let us never forget about this treatment.

Thanks to well-done make-up removal:

  • we do not expose the skin to inflammation, eruptions, pimples and irritations,
  • we cleanse the pores and enable better oxygenation of the skin,
  • we improve the condition of the dermis, the skin looks healthy, fresh and radiant,
  • We properly prepare the skin for the application of nourishing and regenerating creams and balms that are better absorbed and work more effectively.
